Paper Cup Installation

Ordinary cups. Extraordinary connections.

Ordinary cups. Extraordinary connections.

A paper cup is designed to be fleeting — used once, then discarded.
But when we pause to mark it, even the most ordinary object becomes a record of something shared.

As part of The Table, individuals and groups are invited to decorate paper cups while sharing (or reflecting on) a short conversation. Each cup becomes a vessel for connection — drawn on, written on, or doodled with whatever surfaces in that moment.

The installation is inspired by the work of artist Gwyneth Leech, whose suspended cup sculptures turn everyday objects into breathtaking constellations of community. Our own Paper Cups chandelier will hang above The Table — hundreds of small traces gathered into something enduring.

On their own, the cups are fragile and temporary.
Together, they form a growing canopy of welcome — a visual reminder that even fleeting encounters can leave a mark.

How to Join In

  • Look out for Paper Cup pop-ups at local cafés, markets, and community events.

  • Stop by, decorate a cup, and take a moment for conversation or quiet reflection.

  • Each cup will join the collective chandelier above The Table at The Final Feast.

Because the ordinary can be extraordinary.
And even brief connections can change the way we see each other.
