Shared Tables

Join in by sitting down with someone — a friend, neighbour, or stranger — and sharing a real conversation using The Table prompts. Your reflections will become part of The Table exhibition and a beautiful coffee table book in the new year.

An invitation to listen, to notice, and to make connection visible.

As Fifty Seats at the Table unfolds, we’re inviting the wider community to join in. Through Shared Tables, anyone can take part by sitting down with someone — a friend, neighbour, colleague, or stranger — and using the same creative prompts to share a genuine conversation.

These are not stories extracted, but moments exchanged — glimpses of ordinary lives offered with care. Each reflection, whether written, spoken, or drawn, becomes a plate in The Table installation — served at The Final Feast for others to receive.

Because at this feast, the nourishment is human.
What’s being shared is us — the community in all its quiet, vibrant complexity.

Selected reflections from Shared Tables and Fifty Seats will also be featured in a beautiful coffee table book in the new year, bringing together encounters and creative traces from across The Table project.

How to Take Part

  1. Download The Table Conversation Guide

  2. Sit with one person — someone you know, or someone new.

  3. Ask, listen, and reflect together.

  4. Send your answers or recordings to 📩 artforpeoplessake@gmail.com with the subject line “Shared Tables.”

Every shared conversation — in a café, backyard, or kitchen — expands the artwork and the community it represents.
